Leading investment advisors will descend upon Doltone House in Sydney, 26-28 October for the Impact Investment Summit - Asia Pacific. Following much acclaim from last year’s inaugural event, the Summit line-up of international keynote speakers will be thought provoking and action focused.
A new way of doing business is taking hold, one that harnesses the power of capital markets to deliver social and environmental change. Impact investment is an established, sizeable and global financial market hungry for knowledge sharing, know how, innovation and expertise.
Fast catching the attention of the world’s leading economies, the market for impact investing is estimated to reach US$500 billion– $1 trillion globally, over the next decade.
The Summit will be a highly informative two-day conference that will explore the impact investment opportunities across the Asia Pacific region. Bringing together world leaders in impact investing, the conference will feature sessions across all aspects including designing and implementing an impact investment strategy, sourcing and structuring impact investments across asset classes, as well as a ready display of deals that are available and open for investment.
Danny Almagor, CEO and co-founder Australia’s first certified B-Corporation, and Chair of sponsor Impact Investment Group says, “I see plenty of places to make money and make a positive impact. The industries that are the main growth industries are deeply aligned to impact investing. Sustainable agriculture, renewables, sharing economy, electric vehicles, organics, aged care.”
Jessica Roth, co-Chair of the Summit’s Program Advisory Committee and founder and director of the Social Impact Hub and impact investment consultant, predicts that the impact investment sector is on the cusp of massive growth. “There has already been a near-doubling of impact investment funds globally in the past five years,” she says.
“There are opportunities across asset classes and at different points of the risk spectrum. Impact investing is an investment approach, not an asset class. It is simply a lens through which investment decisions are made,” says Jessica Roth.
The stellar line up of international speakers include:
- Amit Bouri, CEO & Co-founder Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) (US)
- Ben Thornley, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Tideline (US)
- Abigail Noble, CEO of The ImPact (US)
- David Wood, Director, Initiative for Responsible Investment (US)
